Christine Mund studied graphic design and illustration. She lived in Egypt where she was teaching at the German School. Several times she exhibited her work in Egypt. In Tanzania, where she lived for many years, she was teaching at the University of Dar Es Salaam and Njumba Ya Sanaa (House of Art). She was working together with a writer and published books for children. One of the books got a prize at the Bologna Bookfair. Christine Mund also created the stamp for Tanzania for the International Year of Apartheid. In Cyprus she donated pictures of cats for the Animal Welfare. Her Icons are painted the traditional way: in egg tempera on wood with gesso primer. In the same technique she created paintings of olive trees. Besides icons Christine Mund paints portraits, landscapes and still lifes. She uses different techniques such as pastel, acrylic, oils and colour pencil.
